I'm a busy mom and don't have time for complicated diet plans, counting calories, or weekly accountability meetings. What I do make time for is making a simple switch from buying toxic fake food for non-toxic real food. I call it my "This for That" plan.
In all honesty, my "This for That" list took lot's of personal research, time, planning, money, trial and error, etc (I think you got point). However, it was definitely worth all the spongy gluten free products to find the diamond in the rough. This list was developed over years and is an ever changing endeavor to find you the best non-toxic alternatives that you and your family can actually enjoy! It’s highly recommended to purchase organic options when fiscally possible. The items listed as “Organic” means that if purchased conventionally then it has a high content of pesticides, herbicides and is most likely laden with GMO’s.
Example: “Organic Apples.” I would only purchase organic apples because the conventional 4 digit apples have a high content of pesticides, herbicides and GMO’s.
Example: “Avocado.” If you can afford to buy organic avocados then more power to yah. However, these amazing powerhouse fruits can already be kinda spendy. Feel good knowing you can get away with buying these conventionally due to their protective skin. Guacamole... here we come!
GF is the acronym for “Gluten Free.” I purchase my GF bread at a local restaurant and it’s amazing. Check with your local farmers market, grocery stores and bakeries to see if they have Organic GF bread with a list of the ingredients. Remember to ask your restaurant server what GF options they have available!
